An apparent tornado has damaged three homes and injured three people near Hughes, Arkansas.

According to the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Office, dispatcher Leslie White reported the tornado touched down late Saturday afternoon. Hughes is a town of about 1,400 residents in eastern Arkansas. While White reported injuries, she was unaware of the severity of the injuries.

Reports are coming in from the Crittenden County Sheriff’s office that strait-line winds have pushed several vehicles off of the roadway along Interstate 40 near West Memphis, Ark. It is unknown if this was caused by a tornado.

Officials say authorities are working multiple accidents, which is causing a lot of traffic to backup on Interstate 40 across all lanes.

According to the Associated Press, forecasters are warning of possible tornadoes in an area stretching from southern Louisiana to southern Indiana.\

Update 7:32pm:
